Bridge Kit Fabrication Adjunct Staff

Internal Candidate Exists.

Temporary 3-4 week position (10-20 hrs a week- about 40 hours total) for Project Support Assistant in the Mechanical or Civil shop labs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Build several “kid-size” Bridge-in-a-Bag kits (watch an example here: https://youtu.be/R-DjvW_PI9s?si=CpLGrgMQgnRRPBRQ)

• Cut and prepare steel, metal and wooden components for the model’s beams and bridge decks

• Sand, paint or apply coatings to components

• Assemble, test, and package kits for delivery

Requirements

• Makerspace, fabrication, construction, or model-building experience

• Comfortable using hand tools and measuring accurately

• Pursuing or completed coursework in engineering (preferred)

• Experience in UNH Mechanical or Civil Labs and shop space (preferred)
