What You’ll Do:
Tests, services, and repairs tractors and related mechanical components.
· Perform in depth diagnostic and repairs on engines, transmission, driveline, HVAC, electrical, suspension, brakes and air systems etc.
· Act as a mentor and trainer to Tractor Tech I and II’s as needed.
· Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
· Drive trucks in and out of shop before and after repairs.
· Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or better than SRT times.
· Repair/replace bolts on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
· Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines.
· Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.
· Perform 90 day lease operator inspections.
· Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.
· Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
· Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers as outlined in USX pm guidelines.
· Check vehicle fluids (e.g. transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.).
· Change vehicle tires.
· Grease mechanical parts.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
Education
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Some college/trade school preferred.
Experience
· Minimum of 5 years of tractor experience required.
· A Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program may substitute for 1 year of the required experience.
Skills/Certifications
· ASE Certifications preferred.
· DOT, AC, and brake certifications required.
