PROPAGATION & STICKING ASSISTANT - Soli Organic

Description

The Operations Associate working in the Propagation, Sticking & Cutting area is responsible for the proper operation of the ISO sticking machine, the quality depends on the cuttings used in the machine resulting in the quality of the plugs produced. The associate in this role must be self-driven, self-directed, and motivated and able to challenge themselves to be successful in a fast-paced working environment. There are quantitative metrics that must be achieved for propagation, cuttings, and sticking’s. The role requires an energetic, charismatic, and self-actualized individual that demonstrates leadership in the area. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Non-Essential Functions are preceded by an *)

• Conduct pre-operational checks on the ISO sticking machine, per the manufacturer’s instructions and on-site training.
• Perform an inspection of the cuttings to ensure that only the highest quality cuttings are used.
• Review the quality and quantity of the plug trays used for sticking to ensure that production is not delayed. And that the sanitation of trays is satisfactory.
• Operate the machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions and on-site training.
• Review the goals of the daily operations with the Operations Supervisor or operations coordinator and notify the grower or operations supervisor if there is any deviation from the daily goals.
• Notify the supervisor if the machine is not operating as intended, and some troubleshooting is needed, per the on-site training.
• Responsible for transferring the finished product to the propagation greenhouse.
• Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School or equivalent
• 2 yrs. of experience in a related position with an emphasis on an operations production/greenhouse environment.
• Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full-scope production activities, both operations, and analysis. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

• 5 yrs. of experience in a related position with an emphasis on an operations production/manufacturing environment. Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full-scope production activities, both operations, and analysis.
• Prior experience with OSHA, HACCP, and GMP is a plus
• Bilingual, English & Spanish
