Job Description

    1. Overall Objectives and Responsibilities
      1. Serves as second in command supervising day-to-day operation of the Inspection Facility, and primary resource when Site Supervisor is not available.
      2. Act as primary liaison between Eurofins and Client when site supervisor is not available. When needed provide relevant daily operational information with the respective regional manager and client.
      3. Train and supervise Grain Inspectors in all aspects of grain grading, including sampling, dividing, and all factors in determining a grade in soybeans.
      4. Explain the procedure according to FGIS standards, the ability to explain procedures with understanding.
      5. Support and provide leadership for safety initiatives.
      6. Responsible for accuracy in reporting results; record test results and provide information to the client of grain truck driver.
      7. Represent Eurofins Grain Inspection as a back-up to client company by acting as a liaison between facility and client grain company merchandisers when site supervisor is not available.
      8. Demonstrate ability to operate all required basic lab equipment per USDA grain standards.
      9. Maintain a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers.
      10. Recommend more accurate or efficient laboratory equipment or procedures.
      11. Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees.  Communicate orally and in writing to co-workers when necessary.
      12. Promote the company image through the exercising of sound and ethical business practices related to the public and our customers.
      13. Relay information to the Site Supervisor for proper action
      14. Process necessary paperwork required by the client company and Eurofins Grain Inspection
      15. Test samples of grain by accepted industry practice using visual procedure and computerized equipment, test sample for weight, moisture, foreign material, and damage; including potential mycotoxin and non-GMO testing.
      16. Adhere to, and ensure that staff adheres to, pertinent health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to the department; maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
      17. Serve as a back-up to ensure accurate entry of employee hours into the payroll system to support timely and compliant payroll processing.
      18. Supervise general site operations, as second-in command and when Site Supervisor is not available - interface with site leads; provide guidance on procedures and/or trouble-shooting, analysis methods, techniques, and equipment.
      19. Performs other duties, activities, and projects as assigned by the Site Supervisor
