Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineer IV for employment in the Seattle, WA, Orange, CA, and Los Angeles, CA office. The successful candidate will work with Project Managers and other technical disciplines on all project phases to deliver a variety of projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
As a pivotal member of a multidiscipline team, you may also:
- Technical resources may serve as technical advisor for the team.
- Communicates project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input for the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
- Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 year+ experience servicing as Engineer of Record on Projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer in California or Washington
- Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience.
- Prior experience leading Site Civil/Land Development projects including site layout, grading plans, utility plans, stormwater management plans, pavement jointing, and construction administration services.
- Prior experience leading Federal or State of California projects
- Civil 3D experience
- Bluebeam experience
