Summary of Job Duties:

The Wildflower Meadow Specialist acts as the curator for the Arkansas native plant collection, which includes duties in design, sourcing plant materials, maintaining the collection, recording acquisitions and loss, outreach, education, and related duties. The person in this role will be responsible for care and maintenance of assigned gardens spaces, including but not limited to planting, cultivating, weeding, watering, mulching, pruning, assessment of health of plants, and directing others to assist with care of the assigned space.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • At least three years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, ground maintenance, or related area

  • At least one year in a supervisory capacity


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a botanical garden or related outdoor museum setting and is comfortable interacting with the public.

  • At least three (3) or more years experience in horticulture, landscaping, grounds keeping, ground maintenance, or a related field.

  • At least three years’ experience with Arkansas Native Plant materials identification, propagation, and care

  • Experience with creating and presenting educational material to groups

  • Formal
