Position Purpose
The Coordinator of Talent Management serves as a project manager within the Talent Management division, supporting the Chief of Talent Management in the execution of strategic initiatives, operational priorities, and cross-functional projects. This position is responsible for coordinating high-impact talent initiatives, monitoring project implementation timelines, facilitating communication across departments, and ensuring organizational alignment to district goals.
The coordinator works closely with district leaders, campuses, and departments to manage complex projects related to recruitment, staffing, employee experience, organizational effectiveness, and talent systems. This role requires strong organizational leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Recruitment & Staffing
- Serve as project manager for the Talent Management initiatives led by the Chief of Talent Management.
- Develop and maintain project plans, implementation timelines, deliverables, and progress monitoring systems.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Talent Management, Finance, Academic Services, Operations, Schools and other departments.
- Support implementation of district strategic priorities related to staffing, recruitment, retention, and workforce effectiveness.
- Facilitate meetings; prepare presentations, communications, and agendas; research and aggregate document action items, and track accountability measures.
- Innovates and designs the best candidate attraction strategies.
- Develops and implements compelling career opportunities in collaboration with District leaders,
- Monitors vacancies and works with hiring supervisors to fill positions in a timely manner.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for hiring professional employees; provides comprehensive information about the hiring process as well as general information about all aspects of HCM.
- Works with District leaders to forecast staffing needs and develop staffing plans.
- Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies, and screening/selection processes.
- Identifies market trends and develops recruitment marketing materials for communication to applicants both locally and out of State.
- Travels to professional events, job fairs, and conferences to recruit top talent.
- Maintains ongoing targeted contact with prospective applicants through email, telephone, and other means of communication.
- Maintains and updates applicant data by checking references, transcripts, teaching certificates, and experience for hiring purposes.
Employee Issues
- Takes a proactive role in identifying and responding to employee issues; works in collaboration with District leadership to ensure preemptive and effective employee communications.
- Assists supervisors and principals with employee counseling, improvement plans, and due-process procedures, where needed.
- Interprets policies and procedures; ensures support of leadership, employees, and government agencies on employment, record keeping, retirement, grievances, and other personnel matters.
- Works closely with leadership to resolve employee issues involving District employees.
- Stays abreast of all pertinent Federal, State, Local, and District policies and procedures concerning employee issues.
Compliance & Collaboration
- Ensures compliance with Local, State and Federal employment laws.
- Stays abreast of State and Federal public policy changes that could impact the District.
- Follows District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Participates in collaborative work as needed during high-volume time periods related to annual team calendar and the primary functions of the division.
