Your Role at KIK
Join our KIK team as a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee all production and processing activities at our facility. This person will enhance the efficiency, quality, and safety of our production operations. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, including but not limited to standard operating procedures, production, processing, training and supervision. Duties also include managing and mentoring production associates, performing and organizing safety protocols and improving efficiency while implementing safety processes and procedures with strong leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work with the Production Manager & Site Engineer to implement improvement strategies that will help the site perform more effectively.
- Evaluate individual team members’ performances and develop their skills to align with personal/company goals through coaching.
- Keep abreast of the supervisorial and technical competencies within the industry.
- Supervisor to establish line performance standards and goals on his/her shift, monitor, make necessary corrective actions, and report outcomes.
- Actively lead the hiring, training, retraining, development, and motivation of production team on his/her shift with a minimum degree of guidance from the Production Manager.
- Practice firm but fair discipline: Ensures that all company regulations, policies, and rules are followed.
- Directs the work team and supervises the shift’s production to meet published schedules.
- Maintains a consistently safe work environment and personally demonstrates his/her commitment to safety and compliance.
- Achieves consistent quality and high efficiency levels by optimum utilization of equipment and manpower.
- Ensures efficient coordination and processing of a high volume of work orders and develops and maintains a very close and effective working relationship with all other departments.
- Ensures that production schedules are attained daily while meeting safety, cost, and quality objectives.
- Directs involvement with improving operating efficiencies, reducing costs, identifying unfavorable trends, and taking timely corrective actions.
- Holds employees accountable for always maintaining an inspection-ready workplace.
- Ensures that proper levels of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety and Housekeeping rules are maintained and that regulatory requirements are always met
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience; preferably production or processing/batching experience in a Chemical manufacturing setting.
- Drive to achieve key performance metrics and for continuous improvement including knowledge of lean, six sigma tools and problem-solving methodology.
- Encourages excellence in others through being a positive influence in the development of teams including cross-training and mentoring.
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with all levels of production.
- Possess conflict management skills and a good understanding of self-directed work teams.
- Ability to drive KIK’s safety and quality standards.
Physical Capabilities
- Occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (up to 1/3 of the time).
- Frequently applying 10 to 25 pounds of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time).
- Constantly exerting greater than negligible force, up to 10 pounds (2/3 or more of the time) for moving objects.
