The Requirements 

To be a strong fit for the Store Manager opportunity, you will have: 

  

  • A high school diploma or GED; a 2-year and/or undergraduate degree in business, management, marketing or a related discipline is preferred. 
  • 3+ years of convenience store or other retail experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience with a track record of good performance. Experience as a manager or assistant manager is strongly preferred. 
  • Solid leadership skills, including the ability to coach and develop others. 
  • A proven strong customer service mindset, and the ability to develop that in others. 
  • Proficiency with general computer applications, such as POS systems and Microsoft Office. 
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and work alongside your team. 
  • A valid driver’s license and adequate transportation for banking and fuel surveys. 

  

The Role 

  

You will be responsible for overall operations of a nomnom branded store, and ensure that the store meets performance objectives and serves customers' needs. You'll also supervise and develop store employees, which may include an Assistant Store Manager and Customer Service Associates. Some locations also have Food Service Associates.

  

You'll have responsibilities in the four main areas below, but no two days will be the same. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, you'll be right at home! 

  • Business and financial management. 
  • Customer focus and site relationships. 
  • Leadership and personnel management. 
  • Safety and facilities management. 

  

This is a "working manager" role, and in addition to leadership, delegation and coaching, you'll work right alongside your team, from helping customers at the pump to restocking coolers. Typically you will work weekdays from 4 AM to 3 PM. You also will work one weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) a month, and one graveyard partial shift a month to ensue employees on that shift have management oversight. A primary location will be assigned based on business needs as business needs change this role requires flexibility to travel to other stores.

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift. 
  • Ability to see with 20/40 vision (corrective lenses acceptable) in order to see numbers on store inventory levels, items purchased, gas pumps in operation, and problems that may occur with gas pumps. 
  • Ability to hear (hearing aids acceptable) customer requests and gas pumps (safety measure). 
  • Frequent reaching overhead, gripping, wrist movement, and finger dexterity required to restock inventory, package items sold, operate POS system, receive payments, issue change, operate gas pumps, wipe pumps, maintain station grounds, and general housekeeping. 
  • Frequent squatting and kneeling required for obtaining and/or replenishing items. 
  • Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e. utilizing a hand-truck). 
  • Frequent lifting of 20 pounds or less from floor to waist, overhead, and carry a short distance.
