This is an exceptional opportunity to join a talented team at Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, DE. This position includes a faculty appointment through the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and a key role in a busy practice. The Nemours Diagnostic Referral Division is a unique service that specializes in difficult diagnoses as well as the inpatient and outpatient management of children with complex medical conditions. This position provides coverage in our own hospital as well as several long-term care facilities throughout Delaware and Pennsylvania
Individuals interested in patient care combined with teaching and scholarship (clinical or basic research investigation) should apply. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a collegial, experienced group. Individuals at all levels of experience will be considered.
Requirements
- Completion of pediatric residency
- Board eligible/certified in General Pediatrics
- Additional experience preferred, including:
- a chief residency year or fellowship training (e.g. general academic pediatrics, hospitalist medicine, complex care or palliative care)
- prior work experience as a hospitalist
- board eligible/certified in Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine
The position will include both outpatient and inpatient diagnosis and management of pediatric patients with complex, chronic medical conditions and technology dependence. Practice settings include inpatient medical service, outpatient medically complex clinic, and long-term care facilities.
The Nemours Children’s Hospital/Delaware, with a long-established and excellent reputation in pediatric health care, draws a broadly diverse patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses. The hospital, supported in part through an endowment from the Nemours Foundation, continues to grow both regionally and nationally and is the tertiary care center for pediatrics within the Jefferson Health Care System. Located on a 300-acre estate and park-like setting in Wilmington, Delaware, this opportunity also offers the cultural and professional advantages of larger cities, given its convenient location within 30 minutes from downtown Philadelphia, 1½ hours from Washington, DC and 2 hours from New York City.
