Vice President of Operations – Perioperative Services
NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Vice President of Operations for Perioperative Services. In this key executive role, you will partner with the SVP of Perioperative Services to drive operational and fiscal excellence, and strategic alignment across all perioperative departments that consists of 152 Operating Rooms, 44 Endoscopy Suites and 9 Central Sterile Processing Facilities . You will oversee budget development, resource deployment, and productivity optimization, while leading initiatives in cost reduction, standardization, and technology integration. The VP will play a critical role in shaping new business strategies, service line growth, and capital planning efforts. This position is also responsible for enterprise-wide access and performance goals and collaborates with clinical leadership and the Corporate Director of Central Sterile Reprocessing to guide future deployment and consolidation strategies. Essential Job Duties

  • Prepares and manages annual capital and operating budgets for Perioperative Services across the Enterprise.

  • Facilitates the effective utilization of resources (people, financial, material) to meet or exceed performance benchmark standards.

  • Supports the development of scheduling models and staffing grids based on demand.

  • Drives continual improvement in budget and forecasting processes. Develops valuations and performance metrics to value and prioritize significant investments.

  • Develops internal business plans and facilitates business planning with Finance.

  • Delivers timely, accurate, and effective analysis and reporting of financial and operational performance metrics. Prepares quarterly and monthly reporting packages for SVP of Periop Services, Presidents and COOs.

  • Directs monthly review of operating budgets; creates and manages cost center system of financial report analysis.

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the period capital budget and facilitating purchases. Approves requisitions for processing.

  • Responsible for billing function and revenue generation. Works with the Finance department to review and modify chargemaster

  • Oversees implementation of standardization in data reporting and management and operationalizes data driven decision making.

  • Designs and directs implementation of technology initiatives throughout Periop Services.

  • Manages and directs supervisory personnel, including Directors and Corporate Director of Central Sterile Reprocessing.

  • Sets performance metrics and goals to guide high performance for all clinical operations teams.

  • Ensures that Periop Services has standardized operations, metrics, and goals across the Enterprise in collaboration with the data and analytics team.

  • Collaborates with Procurement & Strategic Sourcing (PSS) Department. Applies cost effective measures and works toward standardization with PSS. Leads new product request process to drive innovation and fiscal responsibility related to procurement.

  • Manages vendor relations.

  • Identifies opportunities for process change to drive operation efficiency and implements appropriate solutions.

  • Collaborates with the VPs of Operations and Nursing and Clinical Chiefs in the planning for supplies, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, effective charge capture, evaluation of new products and standardization efforts.

  • Oversee block management and access to maximize productivity and maintain a cost effective utilization

  • Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures.

  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or Finance (preferred)

Licensure/Certifications

  • Current NYS RN Licensure (Preferred)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ of experience in a related role with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity

  • Must possess demonstrated competence in financial management and leadership skills.
