Rotating weekend schedule (approximately 4 weekends per year)

Hours: 6:50 am to 2:50 pm

Starting Pay: $21.20 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.

Requirements: Must have at least 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Summary:

• This position is responsible in assisting with monitoring, supporting, and training Brooder House Worker Team Members engaged in attending to birds in brooding.  Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adjusts controls to regulate temperature and humidity of the poultry house. (20%)
• Enter data in FPS, such as chick placements and mortality; creates 7 and 14-day mortality report.  (10%)
• Vaccinates and isolates birds according to vaccination schedule and biosecurity policy and examines birds for signs of illness and treats them according to instructions.  (10%)
• Calculates pen sizes based on number of birds to be received and adjusts to provide adequate feeder, waterer and brooder space for all birds.  Also monitors and assists with the following: placing pen partitions according to calculations, segregating birds according to linage of source.  (20%)
• Monitors and assists with feeding and watering birds according to schedules; walks floors daily, picks up and disposes of mortality.  (10%)
• Monitors and assists with the following: cleaning and disinfecting waterers, pens and performs routine housekeeping duties; repairs pens and equipment (feeders, waterers, lights, fans, etc.).  (10%)
• Monitors and assists with the following: records information according to instructions such as genealogy, bird weight, medications, feed intake and mortality.  (10%)
• Lead positions must currently have and consistently maintain 4 attendance points or less.
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice such as:  Inspects birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly; sanitation of breakroom, boot rooms, equipment and vehicles; properly euthanize weak, ill or injured birds in accordance with company policy; assists manager with scheduling for absent team members.  (10%)
