Assistant Controller, Government Services

About the Role
As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee Cash, Billing & Collections, and Accounts Payable for our U.S. Government Services business. You’ll ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, IFRS, CAS, and FAR, and support strategic initiatives through data-driven insights and project management. This role is critical in maintaining financial integrity while leading a small, high-performing team.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop: Manage the Billing & Collections and Accounts Payable teams, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.
• Financial Oversight: Analyze and report on cash flow, forecasts, and budgets while ensuring accurate transaction recording.
• Compliance & Controls: Maintain adherence to GAAP, IFRS, CAS, and FAR regulations, supporting audits and tax compliance.
• Process Improvement: Drive efficiencies, enhance internal controls, and optimize workflows within the accounting function.
• Project Management: Lead special financial projects and support global reporting initiatives.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS/FAR preferred).
• Proficiency in Excel, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Cognos, and other financial systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing finance teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimal travel
