Senior Principal System Administrators, internally known as Manager, Infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

What You Will Do:

  • Senior System administration lead with strong background in troubleshooting operating system issues (Windows and Linux), networking and storage.
  • Familiar with managing ticketing systems and able to coach/mentor junior sys admins.  Looking for someone with ability to develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the team of 3 SAs and hold accountable to routine maintenance, break/fix issues and set priorities for the group.  
  • Ability to support during off hours (while team is traveling across the world) late nights/early mornings and possibly weekends while team is deploying.
  • Provide System Administration in a combined Linux, Windows, and VMware environment.
  • Troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
  • Install and configure hardware and OS.
  • This position is an 100% onsite role. Work location is Colorado Springs, CO.
  • Must have ability to obtain DoD 8570.01 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree and minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux System Administration.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, networking administration experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • VMware highly desired
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
  • In-depth working experience in Windows Server
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
  • Experience with using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SMECP, and/or Exchange
  • Scripting Experience.
