As a Supervisor, Technician Facility Maintenance, you will lead a team responsible for facility maintenance services and operations including plumbing, electrical, predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and our data center. We'll count on you to provide hands-on skills in multiple trade subject areas as work load requires.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises a team skilled to perform maintenance service and repairs in a specialized technical and skilled trade (see detailed responsibilities by skilled trades below) for Nationwide facilities.

  • Ensures maximum operational efficiency of facilities and equipment through the supervision of technical support staff and the purchase of vital contractor resources.

  • Ensures that all systems, including utility infrastructure, are fully operational and inspected according to accepted standards and practices, including preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance and repair programs.

  • Identifies current operation and maintenance needs and formalizes operating plans, shop budgets and projects to increase efficiency of the Nationwide facilities. Negotiates and selects outside contractor services and products to meet and align with facility maintenance objectives. Plans projects, prioritizes and monitors progress.

  • Responds to emergencies outside of normal working hours.

  • Remains familiar with, and follows, all applicable federal, state and local laws codes, regulations and ordinances.

  • Manages associates, including performance, salary planning and administration, training and development, day-to-day administration, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.

Electrical/Life Safety - Supervises team responsible for:

  • Layout, assembly, installation, testing, repair and adjustment of electrical distribution and wire communication systems as well as electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment and wiring such as motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers.

  • Maintenance, repair, testing, installation, assembly and inspection of all building fire suppression and alarm monitoring annunciation systems, including, but not limited to, wet, dry and gaseous suppression systems and associated apparatus, fire pumps, kitchen hoods sprinklers, smoke detectors, water flow devices, tamper switches and pull boxes, and monitoring panels and stations.

  • Layout, assembly, installation, testing, repair and adjustment of card access, closed circuit TV, conference room audio visual systems including all associated hardware and software, as well as network connectivity to the local area networks.

Mechanical - Supervises team responsible for:

  • Operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment and HVAC field controls and plumbing systems as well as mechanical equipment such as boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors, generators, motors, turbines, pumps, computer room air conditioning and ventilating equipment in a large commercial facility.

  • Maintenance, repair, installation, testing, and adjustment of all refrigeration equipment including but not limited to walk-in and reach-in coolers, ice machines, package air conditioning units, air- and water-cooled chillers. Also responsible for the use and management of a refrigerant management database; tracking the use and disposition of all refrigerants used in all buildings as required by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
