About the role
JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Senior Maintenance to join our growing team.
THE ROLE
Under direct supervision, the Maintenance III Top Level position(s) performs duties that are highly diversified in nature involving the various skilled trades, including, but not limited to, machine maintenance and repair, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting, electrical and plant layout, inside and outside of the various JELD-WEN production plants and facilities.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs highly diversified and advanced maintenance on machinery, mechanical equipment, or the structures inside and outside of any JELD-WEN facility.
- Coordinates with supervisors, other plant personnel, and contractors for work outside the scope of the Maintenance Position Descriptions as follows: The replacement of wires, electrical receptacles, fixtures and motors
- Repairs holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or the appropriate compound and paint
- Performs plumbing work in replacing and repairing sinks, water coolers, toilets and other plumbing fixtures
- Repairs wood or concrete floors, steps, stairs, and sidewalks
- Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles, hang doors, installs door locks, and replaces broken window panes
- Repairs items using welding and machining tools
- Installs, balances and aligns existing and new equipment
- Gathers all necessary information for project completion
- Works with appropriate facility personnel to mitigate breakdowns and to insure the end product meets the production standards and guidelines in conjunction with quality control objectives
- Assists the Maintenance I and II position and works closely under the auspices of management to achieve the goals and objectives of JELD-WEN as written above
- Maintains the machinery and equipment in a clean, orderly, and operational condition while following prescribed safety regulations. Conforms with safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, steel toed boots/shoes, and associated safety equipment in order to be on the plant floor and maintain and repair the machinery and equipment, and perform the job duties in a safe and efficient/effective manner
- Reports unsafe conditions to appropriate supervision
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Must be knowledgeable in machinery repair and maintenance, electrical work, carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry, and plant layout
- Oversees, detects, reports, directs personnel, assists or make repairs to defective machinery and equipment, and buildings and grounds
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend more advanced verbal and written instructions, read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, instructions and specifications
