The Digital Workplace (DW) team, part of the Infrastructure and Cloud Services organization, helps enable joy at work for our coworkers through the delivery of devices, reliability of collaboration platforms, and speed of response within our support services.  Collaboration Experience, situated within Digital Workplace, is dedicated to providing and maintaining end-user technologies and capabilities to deliver a best-in-class user experience.  We specialize in collaboration services, productivity tools, virtual desktop environments, Windows lifecycle management, and application packaging. Additionally, we offer comprehensive third tier support, encompassing product vision, strategy, and management. 

 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced AVD/Windows 365 Solutions Engineer, Senior, with a strong background architecting services such as Azure Virtual Desktop and/or Windows 365.  This position will be based in Oakland, CA or open to a flexible location and will report to the Virtual Desktop Experience Supervisor. The AVD/Windows 365 Solutions Engineer will be involved in designing, delivering, and supporting a technical solution for Azure Virtual Desktop & Windows 365 technologies. This role requires someone who has expertise in setting up, configuring, deploying, and supporting this technology throughout the enterprise.  We are embarking on a large cloud migration, increased automation and delivering a modern virtual desktop. This is achieved by working with the current team to develop a strong understanding of our current on-premise VDI environment which is currently serving over 4500+ end users.  This position will participate in team’s troubleshooting sessions as well as an on-call rotation schedule.  The successful candidate needs to have a blend of technical expertise, strong communication, analytical, customer facing skills and building partnerships inside and outside the IT organization.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location once a month and/or based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
