What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- M.A. or Doctorate (accreditation AOTA) preferred.
- Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of applicable state with current licensure.
- CPR Certification every two years.
- Valid applicable state driver's license.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
- Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
- Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
- Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
- Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
- Participates in chart review of clinical recordsfor quality assurance.Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
- Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

- Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills
- Contact with patients, family members, visitors, coworkers and medical staff under a wide variety of circumstances
- Ability to work with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations
- Ability to work effectively with the team
Work Environment:
- Exposure to hazardous substances, infectious diseases, and body fluids
- Subject to many interruptions.
- Potential exposure to infectious/contagious diseases, hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids, wastes, toxic chemicals and radiation
- Handles emergency or crisis situation
- Subject to many interruptions, highly stressful and crowded/noisy conditions
- Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquires
- Handles absentee replacement on short notice
