Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering - ML/AI Products to lead our software development team in delivering innovative clinical products that enhance patient care and streamline operations within the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, a deep understanding of healthcare systems, and a proven track record of managing high-performing teams. This role will focus on driving the architectural vision, development processes, and best practices for our software initiatives, with a particular emphasis on integrating machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into clinical applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Software Development Strategy: Define and drive the software development strategy for ML/AI products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and clinical objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and identify opportunities for software solutions.
  • Building Clinical Products: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of clinical software products that leverage ML and AI technologies to improve clinical decision-making, enhance patient engagement, and optimize healthcare workflows.
  • Architectural Oversight: Ensure the design and implementation of software architectures that facilitate seamless integration with healthcare systems, ensuring compliance with interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
  • ML/AI Integration: Lead the development and integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions into software applications, focusing on predictive analytics, natural language processing, and other advanced capabilities.
  • AI Agentic Responsibilities: Design and implement AI agents that can autonomously perform tasks, provide recommendations, and interact with users in a natural and intuitive manner. Ensure that these agents are trained on relevant clinical data and adhere to ethical guidelines.
  • Agile Development Practices: Implement and promote Agile methodologies within the team, ensuring efficient development processes and timely delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Technology Integration: Leverage modern technologies and frameworks (e.g., cloud platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, Azure; programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++) to build scalable and efficient software solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of software development initiatives, making data-driven decisions to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clinical staff, IT, and business units to ensure stakeholder alignment and gather feedback for ongoing software enhancements.
  • Research and Development: Stay current with advancements in software engineering, healthcare technologies, and industry trends, evaluating their potential applications within the organization.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all software development initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements, ethical guidelines, and industry standards, promoting responsible software usage and data governance.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on healthcare systems and technologies.
    • Minimum of 3+ years of people management experience, successfully leading and developing software engineering teams.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing software development teams and delivering complex clinical software solutions.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps) and best practices.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
    • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and AI technologies.
