Job Description

The Intelligence Analysis Branch (IAB)/Signals and Systems Division (SASD) of the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) seeks an Operations Research Systems Analyst Intern starting in the summer 2025 semester. The role of this position is to assist the Project Director/Principal Investigator and Technical Leads with research activities related to developing decision support tools, models, and analysis techniques to be used for conducting assessments of military operations in the information environment. Research activities will include developing data collection, data processing methods, data models, algorithms, and performing data analyses including using automated techniques.

The Intelligence Analysis Branch conducts all-domain intelligence analysis of complex threats, operational environments, and information warfare research for the U.S. national security community to support research and development (R&D), acquisition, experimentation, and policy decisions. The Signals and Systems Division engages in research related to high-impact, technical analysis for U.S. Government projects. The division's mission is to shape the development of next-generation technical capabilities and strengthen our national defense through leading-edge research and analytic support, informed by a deep knowledge of operational capabilities, current intelligence, and the related information environment. The Advanced Concepts Laboratory develops tailored solutions for a broad range of national security challenges through disciplined application of physics- and effects-based modeling to realizable systems, augmented with prototype development and testing.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Full-Time Intern- Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in 1 or more programming languages including Python
  • Task / team leadership experience
  • Strong math and data analysis skills
  • Ability to learn complex technical concepts related to national intelligence, international security, and the information environment
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas

Hours per Week

40 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
