Role Summary
The Product Manager, Investment Vehicle conducts a wide range of product management activities that have broad-reaching implications for T. Rowe Price’s overall strategy of North American commingled investment vehicles including US Mutual Funds, Common Trust Funds, Canadian Pooled Funds, and Interval Funds. This includes leadership of complex cross-functional implementations of product-related activities to ensure stakeholder readiness. Conducts advanced research to understand competitive and internal positioning including fees and expenses. Based on research and analyses, develops ideas for product development, enhancements, and/or expansions. Shares analysis and insights with internal teams for review. Researches the demands, risks, and regulatory environment of the applicable markets to guide product developments. Creates a broad range of materials for review and inclusion in management presentations and product governance meetings, including vehicle-specific Boards of Directors. Identifies and suggests updates to business processes, procedures, and policies related to the products and investment vehicles.
Responsibilities
Conducts operational activities related to new product launches, restructuring, merging, closing, and other product-related changes including fee and name changes. Manages activities outlined in product development and implementation processes. Develops and manages product implementation plans and timelines. Establishes relationships with partners in Operations, Legal & Compliance, Technology, Risk, Finance, etc. to ensure successful implementation of new or modified products. Monitors and measures the success of various products leveraging established metrics.
Independently creates, updates, and enhances product- and vehicle-specific policies and procedures; provides education on these policies and procedures. Manages end-to-end process reviews.
Collaborates with other Global Product teams to help build business cases for new products or modifications to existing products.
Researches, develops, and delivers analysis for presentations and reports to be delivered internally regarding product development and enhancements.
Demonstrates knowledge of assigned products, the marketplace, industry, and client needs.
Researches regulatory developments and analyzes potential implications to existing products.
Synthesizes findings and recommendations by creating management-level presentation materials, including for Boards of Directors.
Acts as point-of-contact for Global Distribution, investment teams, and other departments regarding product/vehicle characteristics, policies, and procedures. May provide guidance to more junior associates. Provides high-level assistance and coverage to other Product Managers and serves as their backup as needed. Escalates findings or issues to more senior staff.
Demonstrates strong knowledge of TRP investment products and vehicles (US Mutual Funds, Common Trust Funds, Canadian Pooled Funds, Interval Funds).
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
5+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred:
US Mutual Fund, Common Trust Fund, Canadian Pooled Fund, and/or Interval Fund product knowledge
Morningstar Direct and Simfund experience
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
