Department Summary The Development and Marketing teams are a community of driven and passionate fundraising and donor care professionals who create synergies between donors, prospects, and the mission of Search for Common Ground. We bring our individual experiences and expertise to walk alongside our current and future peacemaking community by cultivating, maximizing, and stewarding their financial resources with the needs and development of the communities we serve.
Position Summary The Community Gifts Associate is key in supporting the Market-level donors (<$5k giving annually) and their needs. They will be the key communicator to our Market-level donors. They will work closely with the marketing team to create engaging and compelling communications and execute the strategy for this group of donors. They will also work closely with the Mid-Level and Major Gifts teams to ensure consistent messaging at each level. Lastly, this position will work with the DevOps team to identify donors who need to be upgraded to the Mid or Major level.
This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, a desire to learn about fundraising, and an exceptional ability to stay organized and prioritize competing tasks. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. A passion for working with donors, learning about the mechanisms within fundraising, and elevating the organization's mission is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary point of contact for donor inquiries, such as questions about giving options, tax information, and managing monthly contributions.
- Show appreciation by thanking donors for their contributions (monthly and one-time), acknowledging their birthdays and giving anniversaries, and welcoming them into the Search community via email, phone calls, and handwritten cards.
- Oversees and manages volunteers dedicated to writing thank-you cards for donors.
- Proactively checks in with donors impacted by disasters or emergencies in their area.
- Personally engage with top donors by scheduling 1:1 meetings annually.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure correct data is being put into our database and donors are being properly funneled up into the right management groups.
- Supports the Mid-Level and Major Gifts teams in planning and executing virtual and in-person events.
- Makes annual calls to each donor to express gratitude and maintain engagement.
