Located on a hillside overlooking the valley, we are a 123-bed, acute-care hospital, primary stroke center, and acardiac heart surgery hospital. Summary

Provides safe and effective food service for patients, visitors, and staff.  Follows guidelines for Infection Control and Food Safety. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all items in work area. Performs routine tasks in the kitchen, tray line and dishwashing areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High School Graduate or equivalent, preferred

Minimum Experience/Skills:

Experience working in a full service Commercial Foodservice Kitchen and commercial dishwashing experience is preferred

Pay Range: $21.16 - $26.14 hourly 

**Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience

Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales, and catering. Assembles patients’ trays. Chops, slices, and peels food. Transports carts to and from the different units. Delivers trays and snacks to the patient. Transports food to other areas as needed. Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine. Cleans and sanitizes dishes. Operates, cleans, and sanitizes necessary equipment. Sweeps and mops all areas of the department. Collects and disposes of trash. Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms, and refrigerators as assigned.

Education:

Required: High school graduate or equivalent

Experience:

Preferred: 1 year experience in a healthcare environment.

Certifications:

Required: Food Handler certification based on city or state requirements.
