BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to be a strategic HR partner with the management teams and assist with a variety of HR functions. The HR Generalist will be aligned with a client group along with having responsibility for special projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and helping resolve work-related concerns
- Handle complex employee relations matters to include employee complaints or concerns, terminations, counseling, coaching, and documentation
- Handle employment claims such as unemployment and assist with escalated investigations
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as; equal employment opportunity, work complaints, harassment allegations and other employee concerns
- Provide managers with guidance and training in employee relations matters
- Oversee and administer the ADA accommodations process with employees and managers
- Oversee multiple aspects of performance management process within the HRIS system
- Recommend changes and monitor compliance laws for related practices and employee handbooks
- Analyze and provide recommendations for employee complaint trends
- Monitor and evaluate headcount, turnover and other relevant HR metrics
- Serve as back up for Supervisor of HR on a variety of HR or HRIS projects
- Work with Learning & Development team to review content and assist as necessary
- Oversee the department KPI reporting
- Oversee updates and maintenance on the company Intranet pages
- Other duties assigned as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Professional certification desired
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or HR related field strongly preferred
- Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience required
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Skills:
- Hard Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, HR specific software
- Soft Skills: strong presentation skills, willingness, and ability to learn from other departments, innovator, good verbal and written communication skills, strong time management skills, strong organization skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency, ability to take constructive criticism and strong work ethic
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
