Summary
The Specialist II for the Facility Rental team supports the Director of Land Management primarily in the management and coordination of the rental of school facilities and assists in certain real estate functions. This includes assisting in the day-to-day oversight of the collections of payments, accounting and management reporting and adherence to Board Policy. The incumbent will work internally with various departments, local school staff, and Board Administrative support staff and externally with organizations municipalities, attorneys, and the community. The Specialist II may have some supervisory responsibility of a clerical position.
Essential Duties
- Manages the daily office functions of the facility rental staff
- Develops and oversees all function-related processes to ensure the office maintains a smooth, ongoing workflow which may impact other departments
- Monitors, interprets and implements current laws, rules, and policies pertaining to the Facility Rentals department
- Works directly with District Leadership across multiple functions
- Assists the Director of Land Management in preparing purchase and disposition contracts, long term leases, intergovernmental agreements, and cell tower leases and working with buyers, sellers, lessees, government agencies and attorneys
- Guides the initiation and completion of complex projects and programs; Makes recommendations to management for implementation
- Researches and recommends new processes, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed
- Undertakes projects as assigned by Executive Staff to support organizational initiatives
- Produces monthly accounting and management reports and other ad hoc reports related to Facility Rental and the Department as needed
- Maintains highly confidential data
- Develops and conducts presentations/training for other departmental leadership and staff relevant to the Facility Rental Department
- Ensures compliance with Board Policy and Operating Guidelines
- Receives and responds either verbally or in writing to inquiries from employees, departmental leadership, and other staff
- Establishes and maintains files and documents as required by State and Federal Laws, State Department of Education Rules and Regulations, and Fulton County Board of Education Policies, where applicable
- Serves as a member of cross-functional committees
- Attends trainings/conferences to keep abreast of current laws, trends, and best practices
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Minimum 3 years of experience working in a related field required; Experience in real estate or licensing experience preferred

- Knowledge of laws, trends, and best practices relevant to assigned area of responsibility

- Must be able to perform multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
- Must be able to collaborate effectively with District and school personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
- Proven ability to handle confidential information
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
