Job Description:

University Cancer & Blood Center is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for performing medical tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This position is for our Eatonton location. Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 AM-5:00 PM. Can travel to Athens for full-time hours.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients
• Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
• Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
• Monitor inventory samples and supplies
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Work under the supervision of a medical technologist
• Perform cbc, i-stat BMP’s , macro UA’s and other point of care testing in a very high paced physician office

• Perform all daily QC, maintenance, and proficiency testing on instruments.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a clinical technician or in other related fields
• Familiarity with common medical terminology
• Experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong organizational skills
