Position Overview
The Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery is seeking to hire a Statewide Coordinator for the Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative. This position organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the program for the Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR); develops and interprets policy and rules of the Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative for SUPR and agency staff and ensures that programs are adhering to the Housing First Approach; provides training and technical assistance to organizations providing Permanent Supportive Housing including coordinating and staffing the learning collaborative; performs on-site visits to monitor, assess training and technical assistance needs, and identify potential funding mismanagement or fraud; organizes and convenes learning collaboratives and workgroups in support of Permanent Supportive Housing as part of Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) in Illinois.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as the Statewide Coordinator for the Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative Program.
- Provides direction for the Permanent Supportive Housing model in Illinois.
- Utilizing the Housing First Approach in Illinois, provides guidance and direction to organizations providing Permanent Supportive Housing, in order for them to provide best practices for tenancy support for the residents.
- Attends the Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) Council meetings as needed as a representative of the agency.
- Provides training and technical assistance to organizations providing Permanent Supportive Housing including coordinating and staffing the learning collaborative.
- Coordinates and assists management in writing Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO's) that expand permanent supportive housing opportunities.
- Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes existing policies and procedures related to Permanent Supportive Housing.
- Serves as a liaison and advocate of IDHS/SUPR's Recovery Residences and ROSC by actively supporting individuals in recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD), including Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), individuals on Medication Assisted Treatment, and individuals in recovery support programs.
