The RX Business Intelligence and Analytics (RXBIA) team is a dynamic and results-oriented group dedicated to leveraging advanced data analytics, data visualization, and data science to support the Pharmacy Audit (PCAR) team and related business areas. RXBIA specializes in transforming complex data into actionable insights that enable informed decision-making for our business partners. Through rigorous analysis and strategic reporting, the team drives operational efficiency, reduces administrative costs, enhances pharmacy performance, and elevates the overall customer experience.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer leverages advanced tools, technologies, and best practices to collect, integrate, analyze, and present organizational data, transforming raw information into insightful and actionable business intelligence. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive data solutions—including SAS and SQL reports, Power BI dashboards, and potentially Power Apps and Power Automate flows—to support key business objectives and drive process improvement. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, ensures data accuracy and consistency, and translates findings into strategies that influence departmental direction. The position requires independent decision-making on moderately complex to complex technical matters and offers considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 4-6 years of technical experience in data analysis
  • Advanced data analytics skills and reporting experience to include working with large complex data sets within large organizations using SQL and/or SAS
  • Advanced data analytics skills and reporting experience to include working with large complex data sets within large organizations 
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, Access, and/or PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • Critical thinker who can anticipate team needs and take initiative to present ideas, ask the right questions, and deliver the highest quality work
  • Self-starter that can work independently with minimal direction, take ownership, and anticipate future consequences and trends accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals
  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare or pharmaceutical related data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • Expertise in creating analytics solutions to drive decision making
  • Prior or recent experience in conducting forecasting or trend analysis
  • Process Improvement methodology experience
  • Process documentation experience
  • Knowledge of Databricks

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$89,000 - $121,400 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
