Under general direction, Econolite Systems, Inc. is seeking to hire a full-time IMSA & NEC certified Electrician for various Traffic Signal Maintenance projects in Southern California. The Electrician will be expected to work on Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) related projects. Specific types of work include conducting Preventative Maintenance checks and repairs on Traffic Signals, Flashing Beacons, Solar Radar Feedback signs, Street Lighting and other electrical components as required by the customer.
DUTIES
- Willingness and capability to work on traffic signals streetlights and other Intelligent Transportation Equipment, using a bucket truck
- Inspect, install and maintain electrical components and systems, such as traffic signal circuits, cabinets, transformers, circuit breakers, services, street light luminaires, CCTV, communications equipment, etc.
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices such as traffic signal circuits, cabinets, transformers, circuit breakers, services, streetlight luminaires, CCTV, communications equipment,
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
- Serves as a proactive customer service & quality ambassador of Econolite Systems, Inc. by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner to support The Brand Promise.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current/Active Journeyman License/NEC Certification Required.
- Must have a clean driving record
- Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds).
BUSINESS TRAVEL & HOURS
- 25% - 50% or as needed to project locations and company facilities across Ventura, LA, Orange, San Bernardino, and San Diego Counties
- Some or all hours may be during 3rd shift
PRE-EMPLOYMENT
All candidates who accept employment will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening. For applicable roles, candidates who accept employment will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle/Driving Record screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time
- Safety sensitive position—will be required to work at busy traffic intersections
- Required to drive up to five hours a day; ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- May work in various, changing outdoor weather conditions, i.e. rain, heat, snow, etc.
COMPENSATION
The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (base pay/"Shop Rate") plus benefits. When applicable, based on the county and work classification per the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), prevailing wage rates will be used. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
