Summary:
The SIS Online & Executive Programs office administers two graduate programs: the Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR), and the Master of International Service (MIS). The MIS program is an accelerated 30-credit graduate program that is uniquely positioned as the only SIS program to be offered in two modalities: on-campus and online. The MIS program seeks a part-time Program Assistant (PA) who will provide administrative, operational, and programmatic support for the Fall 2025 semester, with the option to continue based on Fall 2025 performance. This role reports to the MIS & MAIR Program Coordinator.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to: (1) Assist with day-to-day administrative duties, (2) Support and staff programmatic initiatives, activities and events as needed, including virtual and hybrid events, as well as the bi-annual in-person Immersion, (3) Graphic design and production using Canva, (4) Light research and data collection, (5) Data entry and maintenance on Canvas, (6) Collaborate with members of the SIS Online & Executive Programs team as needed, (7) Special projects and other tasks as assigned.
The MIS Program Assistant will have many unique opportunities to acquire transferrable professional skills and the opportunity to take ownership of a variety of special projects. The number of hours worked per week will be determined by the student’s FWS award, but can range between 4-8 hours per week.
Only students with an active FWS award for the 2025–2026 academic year will be considered.

Salary Range:
- $17.95 - $22.00 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google platforms.
- High level of maturity and professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Strong collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to also work independently in a remote work setting.
- Ability to interact and engage with internal and external stakeholders of different levels/positions.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous experience working within an AU campus office.
- Major, minor, or interest in international studies/international relations/international affairs is strongly preferred.
- Ability to take initiative. Self-motivated with the ability to self-manage in a remote setting.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a good sense of humor.
- Experience with Canva highly preferred.
- Basic video editing skills and/or having the desire to learn additional skills on digital platforms, social media marketing knowledge, and content curation and design experience are all a plus.
- Strong writing skills.
- Experience with Canvas
