HR Manager / Recruiter (3PL Warehouse)

Location: Perris, California (On-Site)
Department: Human Resources

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on HR Manager / Recruiter to lead all human resources functions for our fast-paced third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse operation in California. This role is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, compliance with California labor laws, payroll support, benefits administration, safety partnership, and HR policy implementation.

 

The ideal candidate thrives in a warehouse environment, enjoys being on the floor interacting with employees and managers, and can balance strategic HR initiatives with day-to-day operational support. This position plays a critical role in building a positive employee culture while ensuring compliance and supporting business growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Employee Onboarding & Retention

  • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Ensure completion of I-9s, E-Verify (if applicable), new hire paperwork, and required compliance documents.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and retention efforts.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers.
  • Provide guidance on employee performance, coaching, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Assist managers with performance improvement plans and employee development.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee matters.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, leave laws, and company policies.
  • Administer employee files and HRIS records.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and answer employee questions regarding benefits.
  • Support payroll by reviewing timekeeping, attendance, and employee changes.
  • Maintain required labor law postings and personnel documentation.
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.

Safety & Operations Partnership

  • Partner with warehouse leadership on safety initiatives and OSHA compliance.
  • Assist with accident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  • Support operational leaders in maintaining a productive and engaged workforce.

Talent Acquisition

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried warehouse positions, including Warehouse Associates, Forklift Operators, Inventory Control, Supervisors, Leads, Customer Service, and Operations Management.
  • Partner with warehouse leadership to understand staffing needs and workforce planning.
  • Source candidates through job boards, staffing agencies, referrals, community organizations, and recruiting events.
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, coordinate hiring managers, and manage offer approvals.
  • Facilitate background checks, employment verification, and pre-employment requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience with significant recruiting responsibility.
  • HR experience in a 3PL, warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or fulfillment environment.
  • Experience managing the California employee termination process, including preparing compliant final paychecks on the date of termination (when required), coordinating required separation documentation (including EDD notices and other state-mandated forms), and conducting employee termination meetings professionally, confidently, and with discretion.
  • Experience recruiting hourly warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or logistics employees.
  • Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience conducting employee investigations and managing employee relations issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Experience supporting OSHA and warehouse safety initiatives.
