About the role
<p>As part of the CoE Engineering, you will support Advario’s growth initiatives by providing support to the Clusters, BD and PMO/Project Directors so as to ensure speedy, cost effective, sustainable and proven technological solutions towards design and construction of terminals or related infrastructure with a focus on new energies and emerging technologies. The role will begin in our global headquarters in Rotterdam, with occasional on-site visits to Paris, France for 1 year approximately. The role will additionally include a transfer to Texas, North America, for 1.5-2 years to support on a major revenue generating new energy project and gaining key experiences and knowledge with the aim of applying this afterwards in the global engineering community in the Netherlands again. </p><p> </p><p>Major duties/responsibilities </p><ul><li><p>Dedicated project support for a new energy project which includes preFEED, FEED works in Rotterdam and Paris </p></li><li><p>Supervising the detailed engineering state of the EPC contractor in Texas </p></li><li><p>Support project engineers and managers in the analysis of technical problems and find sound engineering solutions </p></li><li><p>Be a part of the team towards preparation of feasibility and conceptual studies, FEED works, permit engineering, QRA, basic and detailed engineering, draw equipment specifications, prepare estimates and evaluate vendor / contractors’ offers </p></li><li><p>Develop technical proposals, prepare engineering documents and vendor specifications, prepare estimates, evaluate and manage costs as well as a schedule of tasks in close coordination with the clusters to optimize costs, processes and quality. Also review existing specifications and develop new technical specification as may be required to stay abreast with the new technological developments </p></li><li><p>Coordinate and interact with the clusters about project reviews, technical analysis and peer reviews. Also participate in HAZOP and other engineering studies </p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with Advario standards and specifications </p></li><li><p>Work closely with the BD / Commercial groups, Clusters and terminals </p></li><li><p>Knowledge sharing from the corporate centre towards the terminals/clusters and vice versa as also with the CoEE and Growth Engineering community. </p></li><li><p>Perform other related duties as assigned </p></li></ul><p>Your profile </p><ul><li><p>Master Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Oil & Gas background – ideally with terminal experience and refrigerated storage experience </p></li><li><p>8-10 years’ experience in design and construction of LNG/Ammonia/LPG or chemical storage terminals. Knowledge of relevant European and American codes and standards is expected </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>The position is specific for the Center of Excellence Engineering group of Advario and requires expertise in the field of storage and handling of refrigerated and cryogenic fluids such as chemicals and hydrocarbons, butane, propane, propylene, LNG and ammonia. Some experience and knowledge of hydrogen handling would be an added advantage </p></li><li><p>Ability to lead towards engineering solutions that are fit for purpose </p></li><li><p>The role requires understanding of the terminal business and associated process involving Operations and HSSE needs </p></li><li><p>Must understand commercial implication of an engineering decision </p></li><li><p>Experience in an international multi-cultural background </p></li><li><p>Open mindedness and positive attitude </p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills </p></li><li><p>Team-player, patient and confident </p></li><li><p>Demonstrates strong negotiation skills </p></li><li><p>Proficient in English (read, write, speak) being multilingual will be a distinct advantage. </p></li></ul><p> </p><p>Working conditions </p><ul><li><p>Must be willing to travel across the globe and live in North America for a period of 1.5-2 years approximately </p></li><li><p>Willingness to move abroad (temporarily) in the future is a plus. </p></li></ul>
