WHAT YOU WILL DO

  The Industry Principal Lead – Utilities is a senior strategic role responsible for shaping, driving, and executing the company’s Utilities industry vision, offerings, and go-to-market strategy, with a primary focus on Water and Wastewater utilities.  This leader combines deep utilities domain expertise with engineering, automation, digital, and business consulting knowledge to develop differentiated solutions, strengthen executive client relationships, and guide internal teams in delivering resilient, compliant, and high-value outcomes. The Industry Principal Lead acts as the company’s subject matter authority for the Utilities sector and plays a pivotal role in revenue growth, solution development, and market positioning across municipal, regional, and industrial utility operators.  The position requires exceptional intrapersonal, communication, leadership, and networking skills. Successful candidates lead with energy, urgency, and clarity, operate ethically, and place Flexware Innovation values at the center of all activities.  Here are some of the technologies and responsibilities that you will be responsible for: 

Industry Strategy & Thought Leadership 

• Develop and refine the company’s strategic roadmap for the Utilities industry, with emphasis on Water and Wastewater operations, regulatory drivers, infrastructure modernization, and digital transformation. 

• Serve as the lead Utilities industry expert, representing the company in conferences, executive briefings, industry associations, and customer engagements. 

• Produce high-impact thought leadership including white papers, frameworks, maturity models, and market points of view specific to Utilities. 

• Provide authoritative domain leadership across: 

• Water & Wastewater treatment and distribution 

• Collection systems, pumping stations, and lift stations 

• Asset-intensive infrastructure operations 

• Regulatory and compliance environments (EPA, NPDES, SDWA, state and local agencies) 

• Create Utilities-specific digital maturity models aligned to: 

• ISA-95 / ISA-88 where applicable 

• AWWA best practices 

• Asset management frameworks 

• Cybersecurity standards 

• Lead executive conversations covering: 

• SCADA modernization and standardization 

• Operational resilience and reliability 

• Asset performance management 

• Industrial data management and analytics 

• OT cybersecurity 
• AI and advanced analytics for utilities optimization 

 

Solution & Offering Development 

• Lead the creation of industry-specific service offerings combining engineering, digital transformation, automation, analytics, and system integration capabilities. 

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and delivery teams to translate Utilities insights into scalable, repeatable solution packages. 

• Define value propositions, pricing strategies, and differentiation tailored to municipal and utility buying models. 

• Help define end-to-end Utilities solution architectures spanning: 

• SCADA/HMI platforms 

• PLC/DCS systems 

• Historian and industrial data layers 

• Asset management and condition monitoring 

• Cloud-based analytics and reporting 

• Work with service line leaders to identify accelerators and reusable assets (standards, templates, referenc
