Manager, Platform Architecture and Software Development

The Manager of Platform Architecture and Software Development role works as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), Consultant, Project and People Manager providing guidance and leadership through complexities of modern and future backend, platform, and enabling services architectures and software solutions around them. This role works with external and internal resources, companies, and people to ensure those technologies and services enabled by them are available as building blocks comprising a platform for delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to ABS Worldwide clients. The list of technologies may include but is not limited to the following:

1. Data – data ingestion, access and storage for both structured and unstructured information

2. Services – modularized and containerized architecture for micro frontend and backend

3. Events – event driven architectures and messaging bus supporting pub/sub and producers/consumers approaches

4. Communication – networking and data exchange between components

5. Observability – component execution trace generation, capture, aggregation, retrieval, and visualization.

6. Containerization Orchestration – clustered contain execution

7. Optimization – enablement and sustainment of effective and efficient execution of components

This is hybrid role for an individual contributor, team, and project leader who provides leadership and contributions in fields of Computer Science, Computer Engineering. The role has supervisory responsibilities related to projects and technical teams, and provides expert support to other technical teams and business teams within ABS.

The Manager of Platform Architecture and Software Development understands the business process and function and serves as an expert advisory resource for Enterprise Architectures (AE), and Lean Agile Software Development Methodologies. The role leads and supports delivery of practical backend solutions and enabling services and contributes to their successful integration and utilization as part of unified ABS Wavesight SaaS platform. This individual maintains up-to-date understanding of AE principles, emerging technologies and tools, and serves as a champion of best practices and emerging trends. This position may also support the technical training of other ABS Wavesight employees in their specific area of application of modern tools and techniques. The role requires strong ability to communicate complex concepts in clear form to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across diverse groups in ABS Wavesight.

What You Will Do:

• Lead team of Platform Software architects and developers.
• Enable delivery of high-quality software in efficient and effective manner.
• Apply Lean Agile SDLC Methodology in client centric software development and delivery of working code meeting time milestones and budget constraints.
• Support project execution from conception to completion including composing of user stories, their grooming, sprint planning, completion, and retrospective with client feedback.
• Engage and manage external 3rd company partners who may be participants in delivery of SaaS solutions.
• Participate in Strategic Planning and Strategy Execution to develop and implement SaaS initiatives that align with the ABS Wavesight current goals and objectives.
• Provide Technical AE Guidance and Expert Advice on current and emerging AE technology trends.
• Maintain Product Owner and Stakeholder Communications supporting cross-team collaborations while identifying new development opportunities and translating technical concepts into actionable business benefits.
• Engage with Internal and External End Users for continues feedback or alignment of deliverable benefits.
• Sustain Research and Development to stay in line with current technological advancements, best practices, and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization.
• Participate in Training and Mentorship of ABS employees and clients to help educate them on values of AE, its principles, disciplines, tools and techniques, and best practices.
• Engage in Delivery of new solutions as products or services in form of proof of concept, prototypes, or applications.
• Maintain Ethical AI Considerations and Perspective to ensure that AI implementations meet ethical guidelines, regulatory requirements, confidentiality, and security.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

• Fifteen (15) years demonstrated experience in the area of expertise.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in AE, backend platform architectures, software development, and SaaS solutions
• Education of minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Compute Engineer, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is preferred, whil
