About the role

Job Description:

The International Education Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the operations and programming of the office of International Student Services and Study Abroad at Berklee. Based on-campus in Boston, this in-person role focuses on the coordination and support of international education programs and services. The International Education Coordinator will support the success and growth of international education initiatives for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Coordination:

    • Assist with the development, coordination, and management of programs and events to support student engagement. 

    • Collaborate with different departments across the institution to provide relevant programming for students. 

    • Assist the Associate Directors and Director with logistics of office activities, including event scheduling, space reservations, and adherence to budget and financial policies.

    • Contribute to the delivery of information sessions and meetings for students, faculty and staff. 

    • Represent the office of International Student Services & Study Abroad at events as needed. 

    • Work closely with Berklee International Student Advisory Board (BISAB) to integrate student feedback into the office’s programming and social media outreach.
       

  • Communication, Marketing and Promotion:

    • Create content for office social media platforms. 

    • Support the development of marketing and promotional materials to raise awareness of relevant programming.

    • Assist with the maintenance of office web pages.

    • Manage office email accounts and provide responses to essential student questions pertaining to issues including F-1 student regulations and study abroad.
       

  • Compliance and Reporting:

    • Monitor office email accounts and provide responses to essential student questions pertaining to issues including F-1 student regulations and study abroad.

    • Be one of several staff members serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) for adherence to F-1 international student regulations in order to:

      • Assist with institutional Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) compliance processes.

      • Support data management within various College databases.

      • Monitor reports to ensure student compliance with College policies and government regulations.   

    • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws, visa policies, and international education trends.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States as mandated by federal regulations for all DSOs.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends.

  • Comprehensive abilities with, and understanding of, social media platforms and content creation. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse environment. 

  • Preferred: Proficiency in a second language and/or experience living or studying in another country is desirable.

  • Preferred: Experience working in a Higher Education environment.
