Description

DRMP is looking for a 15+ year Transportation Drainage Engineer to support our North Carolina offices. With the option to sit in Charlotte or Cary, this individual will be responsible for applying, planning, and designing transportation drainage projects, along with making recommendations that will complement the organization's objectives.


Your Primary Responsibilities will include

  • Provide analyses and design of transportation drainage engineering solutions for publicly and privately funded projects.
  • Oversee and manage design and production of construction details, plans, specifications and estimates. 
  • Collaborate with clients, subconsultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements.
  • Direct and mentor less-experienced support staff.
  • Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; perform routine calculations and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
  • Support business development efforts including proposal pursuit efforts.
  • Help build relationships with key staff of clients, potential clients, teaming partners and contractors.


What you'll need

  • Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil or Biological and Agricultural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Must have Professional Engineering Registration with the State.
  • 15+ plus years of relevant, progressive transportation drainage design experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of NCDOT design standards and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
  • Proficient experience using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs for open, closed and riverine systems.
