Job Summary

The Finance Manager leads a diverse team responsible for synthesizing and analyzing financial data to uncover insights that drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence. This role oversees Business Manager(s) and Analysts responsible for Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. The Finance Manager focuses on developing and mentoring team members, managing workloads, and fostering collaboration across departments to deliver high-quality results.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team comprising of Business Manager(s) and Analysts.
  • Foster professional growth and development by providing clear guidance, training, and feedback to team members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members, ensuring alignment with company values and expectations.
  • Support team members in achieving work-life integration goals while maintaining high levels of performance.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.

 

Team and Operational Oversight

  • Oversee the AR and AP processes managed by Analysts, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Supervise Business Managers to align financial strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Ensure Data Analysts provide actionable insights and high-quality analysis to support decision-making across departments.
  • Develop and refine workflows, processes, and best practices to enhance team performance and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all team members to measure success and inform leadership.

 

Financial Strategy and Analysis

  • Lead the team in the collection, organization, and analysis of financial data, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Oversee the development of financial models for scenario planning and predictive analysis.
  • Ensure the preparation and presentation of variance analyses, KPIs, and risk assessments, delivering actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Review and refine reports, dashboards, and presentations to ensure clarity, accuracy, and impact.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for financial insights, collaborating closely with senior management and other departments.
  • Align team outputs with organizational strategies and goals by facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive informed strategic planning.
  • Coordinate with other teams to address challenges, align on deliverables, and ensure cohesive execution.

 

Process and Systems Management

  • Utilize financial systems and tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, and other analytics platforms) to optimize team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive process improvements in AR, AP, and financial reporting to support operational excellence.
  • Implement technology-driven solutions for tracking, analyzing, and reporting financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and implement initiatives to streamline processes.

 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Finance Manager supervises a team of Business Manager(s) and Analysts.

Reporting Relationship

The Finance Manager position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

 

Location

This is a hybrid position based out of our Sacramento office located at 801 K Street, 28th Floor. This role may require occasional travel to various project sites throughout California and the U.S.
