Orthodontic Assistant at Meyer and Dana Orthodontics

Position Overview:
The Orthodontic Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the orthodontist and clinical team by providing excellent chairside assistance and ensuring an outstanding patient experience. This position requires attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients and prepare them for orthodontic procedures.
   
• Provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist during exams, adjustments, and other procedures.
   
• Take orthodontic records, including impressions, photos, and digital scans.
   
• Place and remove orthodontic appliances as directed by the orthodontist.
   
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment instructions.
   
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment areas in compliance with safety standards.
   
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting.
   
• Assist in inventory management and ensure clinical areas are stocked and organized.
   
• Support a positive and efficient workflow within the clinical team.
   

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
   
• Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant experience preferred.
   
• Radiology certification (if required by state law).
   
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
   
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively.
   
• Team player with a positive, professional attitude.
