We are looking for an Medical Assistant/Orthotic Fitter that will also assist with Front Desk duties at our Glendale, CA location.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluation, assessment, measurements, patient education, order fulfillment, fittings and troubleshooting related to prefabricated and custom-fabricated compression therapy garments, post-mastectomy breast forms and bras, orthotic soft goods and diabetic footwear.
- Clinical and/or administration assistance for other Practitioners for all service and product lines.
- Direct Patient Care at various location types including Active Life Patient Care Centers, Hospitals, Inpatient & Outpatient Clinics, Skilled Nursing Facilities and Patient Residences.
- Timely and accurate completion of required patient health record documents.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and follows Active Life HIPAA policies.
- Participates in required continuing education opportunities deemed necessary by Active Life.
- Travel to/from Active Life and offsite locations within a reasonable distance from home office to provide patient care or visit/educate referral sources using a personal vehicle and maintaining a valid Driver’s License and Insurance.
- Collection and management of money associated with copayments, deductibles and other financial related items.
- Shipping and unpacking, order processing, and overall inventory management.
- Follow company pricing, coding, authorization and billing standards and ability to properly calculate and determine patient costs, including the collection of funds from patients for provision of services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
- Experience with Orthotics/Prosthetics preferred.
- Computer and typing proficiency of 35 wpm.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable.

Pay: Starting at $20/hr + bonus potential
