About the position:

ING Sector Coverage Technology, Media & Telecom (”TMT”) team is looking to hire a Parent Account Manager (PAM) / Sector Banker focused on managing and expanding the global relationship with multi-national US-based TMT clients and prospects, offering the complete suite of ING Wholesale Banking and treasury products across our international network – with a natural focus on Europe. Our US TMT clients are typically large American stock listed companies, with a revenue base of at least USD 2bn, a considerable footprint in Europe (revenues of over €500m), and with a credit profile of BB/Baa or better.

About the department:

We are an outstanding provider of capital solutions to companies across the TMT sector. The team is small with significant growth potential, providing ample opportunity for the successful candidate to quickly develop expertise and make a difference. We are searching for a self-starter, who is driven, able to work on projects independently and operate at varying levels of seniority in different situations.

Responsibilities:

Client Management

  • Accountable for originating, managing and expanding the overall business relationship with clients assigned by the Sector Head and other PAMs responsible for the TMT portfolio;
  • Accountable for increasing and optimizing the overall profitability and capital allocation on the designated clients (revenues, net profit, return on capital).  Supporting ING Wholesale Banking’s strategy, while keeping risk costs low;
  • The Candidate will have his/her own P&L responsibility, including financial targets and key performance indicators;
  • The Candidate will also assume the role of assistant PAM for selected clients, taking on additional responsibilities;
  • Responsible for main contact with the designated client (including visits; calls; information updates), which requires knowledge of the sector and sector trends, knowledge of ING products/solutions;
  • Act as strategic and trusted advisor to client at headquarters level; responsible for keeping up-to-date all information on the client in line with requirements of ING and other stakeholders (e.g. regulators).

Origination

  • Client acquisition, selection and screening;
  • Identify client’s critical business issues and business opportunities based on a good understanding of the client, its business, the sector and ING products;
  • Originate products and integrated solutions pitches to clients, in close cooperation with local offices, product specialists and Transaction Services Sales Representative;
  • Support product specialists with RFP presentations and other client inquiries;
  • Support ING’s local and product teams in their origination efforts (e.g. facilitate local meetings, assist with presentation materials etc.).
  • Transaction Execution
  • Responsible for securing relevant internal commercial approvals  and preparing; together with ING Lending, the Credit Applications, Modifications and Reviews;
  • Prepare and/or negotiate – in conjunction with Legal and product departments – deal documentation (e.g. NDA, ISDA, Term Sheet, credit agreement, etc.);
  • Provide support to product specialists and/or implementation teams in the execution phase and keep up-to-date with progress benchmarks.

Qualifications and Competencies

Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Good level of transaction and deal team leadership
  • FINRA Series 79 and 63 exams, or willingness t
