This position serves as a Senior Developer, coordinating and conducting complex application development using GenTax, Microsoft SQL, VB.Net programming language for the database design, program design, and the supplied Gen Tax tools for testing the new processes.  In this role, you will liaison with user community for changes and enhancements to the Unemployment Insurance Tax in the Gen Tax Integrated Tax System.  In addition, you will serve as project coordinator for full-range major/complex projects including large hardware/software deployments and installations. Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, serves as a Senior Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Employment Securities (IDES) with coordinating and executing advanced application development and maintenance using Fast Enterprise GenTax, encompassing skills in Object-Oriented programming, and relational database design (RDBMS).
  • Serves as a liaison with the State of Illinois IDES department, ensuring clear communication and alignment with state requirements.
  • Develops and maintains essential documentation, including test plans, scripts, operational guidelines, and application documentation to ensure quality assurance and standards compliance.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and proce
