USfalcon is seeking a Communications Engineer to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron (392 CTS) efforts to design, plan, and implement technical communications solutions for integrating a cyber enclave to support USSF exercises. The Communications Engineer role will focus on establishing and managing robust communication networks, enabling seamless connectivity to cyber transport capabilities (e.g., the Joint Information Operations Range (JIOR)) and internal and external exercise digital ranges. The Communication Engineer will work closely with on-site IT personnel to ensure the smooth integration of the cyber enclave into 392 CTS-supported exercises while maintaining compliance with technical and security requirements. This position is at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, and requires on-site support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop and deploy communication systems that enable cyber personnel to participate in USSF exercises using cyber ranges (local or distributed) across multiple security levels.
- Configure and maintain secure connections to transport systems, such as the Joint Information Operations Range (JIOR) and distributed exercise digital ranges, ensuring reliable data transmission during exercises.
- Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and government stakeholders to gather, document, and address network integration requirements.
- Define and manage technical specifications and network configurations to ensure the seamless integration of communication systems into the cyber enclave.
- Identify potential risks related to network performance, security, and reliability. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks while maintaining operational readiness.
- Assist in defining network-specific project milestones and deliverables while managing resources to ensure the communication systems are deployed on schedule.
- Coordinate rigorous testing of communication systems to validate their functionality, security, and compliance with USSF and government standards.
