The Leidos Digital Modernization sector has a career opportunity for a Senior Technical Control Facility (TCF) Operator supporting the AFNCR IT Services program at Joint Base Andrews.

The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The senior directors and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, stimulating, but also rewarding environment.

Job Summary

The Senior Technical Control Facility (TCF) Operator will assist with circuit actions tasks in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), who provides, operates, and assures command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to the warfighter, national leaders, and other mission partners across the Air Force National Capitol Region (AFNCR).

The Challenge:

  • Under the direction of the Technical Control Facility (TCF) lead and Communication Circuit Manager, works with subcontractors to achieve service levels and contractual requirements at Joint Base Andrews (JBA) and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB).

  • Act as a liaison between the mission partners and supporting external service providers.

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of relevant IT technologies, both user-facing and back-end infrastructure technologies.

  • Able to perform tasks within specific timelines with little or no oversight.

  • Utilizes excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to be able to effectively document solutions and obtain requirements from customers for new circuit installs or changes to the current service.

  • Prepares TCF information, reports, and status updates to higher-level management on the status of all circuits under the JBA and JBAB.

  • Ensure technicians restore circuits, isolate faults, conduct quality control testing, perform trend analysis, performance monitoring, and status reporting.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures for station operation in the TCF.

  • Responsible for the creation and management of all circuit history folders.

  • Manages and completes all circuit actions tasks for the installation and deactivation of circuits.

  • Submits In-Effect Reports (IER), Delayed Service Reports (DSR), and other DISA reports as required.

  • Ensures technicians properly operate equipment and associated cryptographic systems. Ensures communications security (COMSEC) processes are followed in accordance with current regulations.

  • Will be part of an on-call rotation outside normal duty hours. 

What sets you up apart:

  • Requires a BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience, certifications, specific Tech Control experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • 8+ years’ experience operating Air Force IT systems and services and or similar DoD IT systems and services.

  • Familiarity with DoD and Air Force standards, policies, and enterprise solutions.

  • Experience with complex, multi-site DoD enterprise IT environments of the size, scale, and scope of the AFNCR enterprise.

  • Must have a current DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Awarded Air Force Specialty Code 3C2/3D1 or other branches equivalent MOS or Rate.
