We are seeking a diligent and experienced Manager of Equity Compensation and Payroll Tax to join our Payroll Center of Excellence. You will be responsible for our equity plan administration, managing the global day-to-day stock administration activities to ensure timely and accurate equity-related withholding and reporting. The ideal candidate is strategic, has a strong attention to detail, an in-depth understanding equity compensation programs, and familiarity with payroll tax requirements.
What you will do:
- Lead all aspects of the administration and tax compliance of US and Global stock equity plans across 65+ countries using Merrill Lynch’s Benefit Online (BOL) platform, ensuring accurate payroll tax withholdings and seamless integration with corporate payroll systems like Dayforce
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Financial Reporting, Legal, Payroll, Global Compensation, Global Mobility, Treasury, and Tax, as well as External Consultants and Auditors, to lead equity transactions and contribute to the Proxy reporting process
- Be responsible for the quarterly Global Equity Chargeback process, manage the classification of insider trading within BOL, and support the Board of Directors with relevant presentations and the calculation/approval of Dividend Equivalent Units (DEUs)
- Ensure compliance with international regulations, including the acceleration of FICA and Medicare withholding for RSU awards and adherence to China SAFE regulations, while assisting the legal team with insider transactions and SEC filings for Section 16 Officers
- Monitor and ensure timely IRS deposits for substantial equity compensation tax withholdings, provide ad hoc reporting and analysis, and oversee the Colgate Business Services group in Mexico for related tasks
- Coordinate with the Dayforce Managed Payroll Tax team and partner with the North America Payroll Tax for review and reporting, ensuring accurate tax administration and the review/approval of tax adjustments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, ideally in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience with stock compensation or equity administration
- Ability to interact and speak to executive level management and provide explanations, clarifications and intelligence with respect to their equity awards
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications, ability to work with different departments and third-party resources to achieve mutual goals
- Discretion with confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation (or working towards)
- Experience with third-party vendor management and interaction
- Familiarity with Merrill Lynch’s Benefit Online (BOL) platform
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $115,200.00 - $170,000.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
