RUN Studios, in partnership with one of our leading corporate clients, is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our creator space production team in Culver City, CA for a 12-month project. This is an exciting opportunity for a broadcast systems engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, optimizing production environments, and building scalable infrastructure that powers a wide range of live and recorded productions.

The Production Engineer is responsible for assessing, maintaining, and improving the almost 30,000 square foot creator space broadcast engineering ecosystem. Working closely with production, engineering, and technical operations teams, this role will focus on strengthening the reliability, scalability, and documentation of the studio's sophisticated broadcast infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines deep broadcast engineering expertise with strong networking knowledge and enjoys balancing hands-on implementation with long-term systems planning.

This role will begin with a comprehensive assessment of the existing studio environment before leading engineering improvements that enhance production reliability, modernize workflows, and support future growth across our global production operations.

 

As a Production Engineer, You Will

Assess the studio’s existing broadcast engineering infrastructure and identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Develop detailed engineering documentation, including system diagrams, workflows, network architecture, and infrastructure recommendations.
Design, implement, and maintain broadcast systems supporting live and recorded productions.
Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize video routing, switching, capture, and signal distribution systems.
Support broadcast networking infrastructure, including Audio over IP (AoIP), production networking, and signal transport.
Partner with production teams to ensure engineering systems reliably support interviews, podcasts, marketing productions, event activations, and other studio productions.
Implement hardware and software improvements identified through engineering assessments.
Monitor system health, proactively identify technical risks, and recommend long-term infrastructure improvements.
Troubleshoot complex production and engineering issues across broadcast, networking, and studio systems.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and technical operations teams to minimize production disruptions and improve engineering workflows.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend scalable engineering solutions that support future production growth.
Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, cross-functional meetings, and ongoing engineering initiatives.
Perform other related duties as needed.

 

In This Role, You Bring

Professional experience supporting broadcast engineering, studio engineering, or live production environments.
Strong understanding of broadcast systems, video routing, signal flow, and production infrastructure.
Experience supporting complex live production, broadcast, or media environments.
Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking principles and production network architecture.
Experience with Audio over IP technologies, including Dante or similar platforms.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
Experience documenting engineering systems, workflows, and technical infrastructure.
Ability to balance production support responsibilities with long-term engineering improvements.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and operations teams.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple technical priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for building reliable, scalable production systems.

Experience with Ross Ultrix routing systems.
Experience with Grass Valley production equipment.
Experience supporting Blackmagic Design products.
Experience configuring or operating Sony broadcast camera systems.
Experience with video switching and enterprise video routing infrastructure.
Experience supporting Netgear, Arista, or Cisco networking environments.
Familiarity with spatial audio workflows and decoding technologies.
Previous experience supporting major broadcast organizations, sports production, or large-scale studio operations.
Previous experience supporting large corporate studio environments or similar enterprise production facilities.
