About the role

The Role

The Sr. Director, Global Market Access and Pricing – 1083 and 1010 vaccines plays a critical role within the Market Access & Pricing (MA&P) organization. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating strategic activities aimed at building, shaping, and accelerating access, securing reimbursement, and supporting institutional channel strategies for Moderna’s 1083 and 1010 vaccines. This role also leads the development of global pricing strategies and guidance. It drives cross functional collaboration on market initiatives and represents the integrated payer perspective to help optimize price and access potential. The Sr. Director will work in close partnership with the global cross-functional teams while supporting priority markets to ensure the success of these assets.

Here's What You’ll Do

  • Develop global Market Access and Pricing strategies for Moderna’s 1083 and 1010 vaccines, ensuring integration into development plans, brand plans, launch strategies, and sequencing decisions.

  • Enable successful execution of Market Access and Pricing strategies across priority regions and country affiliates.

  • Design and refine pricing, tendering, and contracting strategies in partnership with the MA&P lead, tender team, and commercial colleagues.

  • Provide pricing guidance and assumptions for strategic planning, annual forecasting, and brand budget processes.

  • Monitor and anticipate shifts in the global pricing, HTA, and tender landscape; advise senior leadership to shape Moderna’s position in flu and combination vaccines.

  • Collect actionable insights through market research, expert input forums, advisory boards, and engagement with external stakeholders.

  • Develop resources and materials to be leveraged by the local teams in the engagement with market access stakeholders.

  • Build deep knowledge of competitor pipelines and their pricing, access, and tender strategies across key markets.

  • Support innovative, non-traditional market access solutions and contracting models to meet evolving payer needs.

  • Global colleagues from HEOR, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, tender hub

  • Regional and Local Market Access colleagues (US and ex-US).

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • M.S., MBA, or advanced degree in life sciences or health economics required.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical and/or vaccines industry.

  • At least 6 years of direct experience in Market Access and Pricing, including global or regional leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to shape pricing and access strategies for pipeline and launch-stage assets.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Deep understanding of the Access pathways, Pricing and Reimbursement processes in the US and ex-US priority markets.

  • Experience providing early market access strategy, TPP input, and pricing assumptions into development and brand plans.

  • Proven success designing and executing global pricing, tendering, and contracting strategies for high-impact products.

  • Ambition to excel, with the drive, energy, and purpose to want to facilitate access of vaccines to drive growth and create population impact.

  • Thorough knowledge of evidence-based medicine standards, patient reported outcomes, global and local healthcare policies and their developments, key pricing & market access regulations and practices in US and main EU countries, international pricing interdependencies, health technology assessment and vaccine recommendation processes.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and effectively engage internal and external audiences.

  • Strong sense of priorities and able to handle various projects simultaneously, sometimes with short timelines.

  • Strong diplomatic & interpersonal skills and able to inspire respect and trust from others.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence without authority.

Language skills:

  • Fluent spoken and written English.
