This position works closely with the Corporate Lending Manager to provide oversight, guidance, and leadership to the Loan Documentation Specialists and assists Corporate Banking loan officers with loan structure, compliance, and legal review of loan documentation. This position is responsible for ensuring that the Documentation Specialists adhere to and maintain complete and accurate collateral files in order to limit collateral risk and comply with Ent Policies and NCUA regulations. This position is responsible for distributing and managing loan assignments to the documentation staff and serves as quality assurance reviewer of loan documents and host system booking. The Corporate Banking group was established to develop and manage credit and deposit relationships of corporate members of the credit union. The department offers diversity and relative stability for the entire credit union loan portfolio (adding to both revenue streams and relative portfolio stability), thereby supporting credit union asset liability management goals. The department manages complete relationships and is responsible for identifying specific product needs to introduce into the credit union product offerings. This requires special expertise and experience to operate most effectively in the credit union arena. Finastra USA Corporation's Fusion Laser Pro software is used to document the commercial loans and Baker Hill's NextGen program is used to provide credit analysis and financial statement spreadsheets as well as financial covenant monitoring, tickler tracking and reporting of loan requirements. Microsoft Word and Excel programs are used to create additional documents not available in Laser Pro. Online services such as Kroll Factual Data are used to pull credit reports on the individuals or businesses and Life of Loan Flood Certificates on improved real estate collateral. Certificates of Good Standing and Articles of Organization / Incorporation are pulled from the Secretary of State websites to assure valid and active businesses, and UCC lien searches are also pulled from here to validate lien position of UCC type collateral. Environmental reports are pulled on real estate collateral using Environmental Site Assessments and they monitor any environmental issues that may arise in and around the collateral property. Other programs or systems may be utilized depending on a specific need.Essential Functions
- Provides oversight and guidance to the Corporate Loan Documentation Specialists in the preparation of commercial loan documents. Reviews loan document packages prepared by the documentation staff to ensure accuracy and compliance. Due to complexity and uniqueness of these loans, this is an ongoing process.
- Manages and distributes the workflow within the Documentation Specialist team to ensure timely processing of the commercial loan requests, paid loan processing and other documentation team duties.
- Reviews various contracts, Laser Pro loan documentation changes and other legal documentation issues as pertains to commercial loans. Make changes to Laser Pro documents using LawyerPro as deemed necessary through review process. Engage legal counsel (internal or external) regarding loan documentation needs as deemed necessary by Team Leader or upper management of Corporate Banking.
- Assist the Manager and the VP of Corporate Banking through the collection and distribution of confidential and sensitive information and assist with completing Corporate Banking annual budget. Day to day employee management such as attendance monitoring, PTO requests, initiation of performance improvement plans, completion of annual performance reviews, assist with interviewing / selecting candidates for Corporate Banking Documentation positions, recommendations for termination, etc. Act as liaison between VP of Corporate Banking and Finance for budget and GL issues.
- Research loan record anomalies and make corrections to the commercial loan records in Symitar. Assist the Loan Servicing Specialists with Symitar loan issues, changes and / or corrections.
