Job Description

The base salary range for this position is $90k - $130k.

Under direct supervision, but with latitude for independent judgment, shall be responsible for the daily operations of the golf course maintenance of the courses at Mauna Lani Resort and to ensure the guests of the Francis H. I’i Brown golf courses have an enjoyable experience in playing our facilities. This responsibility includes the direct supervision of employees under his/her supervision. This would also include, but is not limited to the development of maintenance practices and programs that are needed to maintain these facilities at the highest standards for the golf course industry.

  • Responsible for the weekly/daily scheduling of employees so as to maintain a synergistic working environment for this department.
  • Supports GM/Golf Director in the creation of the annual operational and Capital expenditures budgets.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all materials, supplies, and other necessary items that are needed daily to provide for the efficient maintenance of the facilities and in accordance with established budgets.
  • Responsible for maintaining all necessary records and policies as set forth by management.
  • The monitoring of daily operations for areas of questionable efficiency and to present any and all remedies or solutions to these problematic areas with sound operational procedures to the General Manager.
  • Responsible to maintain an ongoing operational knowledge of golf course maintenance practices and programs and the efficiency of operational procedures so as to constantly improve the golf course facilities at this resort.
  • Responsible to maintain all employee records such as vacations, sick leave, days off, personal holidays, and daily timesheet information as directed by Talent & Culture.
  • Ensures a clean and safe working environment at all times for team members.
  • Meets all HIOSH and EPA regulations, as needed for the golf maintenance operations at all times.
  • Responsible for  all supplies, records, materials, equipment, rental equipment, cleaning supplies, chemicals, fertilizers and other associated materials and items necessary to maintain an efficient operational readiness are adequate at all times.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ college in Business Administration or equivalent in a similar field, or related experience working in the field management of Golf Course Maintenance as a Superintendent of the equivalent.
  • Must be a Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association for at least three (3) years.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) year’s experience as a Golf Course Superintendent. 
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Hawaii Category 3 Restricted-Use pesticide license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Hawaii UST A/B and Class C operator certification.
