Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Position

The DSD Accounts Payable File Clerk is responsible for the sorting and filing of incoming invoices from store locations. The clerk will also be responsible for the accurate payment of invoices that are billed by the assigned vendors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Open, sort, and file incoming invoices from each store on a weekly basis.
• Check off assigned vendor statements; research and edit discrepancies as needed.
• Enter data into SAP payables system.
• Prepare assigned data for quarterly and fiscal year end accrual.
• Act as part of a team to open and sort incoming store mail bags.
• Return empty invoice bags to outgoing store mail bags.
• Assist other A/P clerks if needed during vacations, medical leave, etc.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Has organizational skills.
• Has good time management.
• Can communicate effectively.
• Has the ability to lift 10-15 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lift moderate amounts of weight up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to shift work focus between paperwork and computer screens.
