JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title
HVAC Repair Specialist

 

Reports to
Production Supervisor

 

Summary/Objective

The HVAC Repair Specialist provides advanced troubleshooting, repair, and/or overhaul of HVAC mechanical and electrical equipment. Perform cost effective functional testing of HVAC components and systems, in a controlled lab environment with the ability to troubleshoot and identify failure modes.  The troubleshooting includes mechanical, electrical and brazing repairs required in order to meet product specifications and acceptable test results. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Diagnose and troubleshoot to component level; mechanical and electrical problems.
  2. Disassemble equipment and clean as needed.
  3. Perform initial evaluation and inspection of equipment as assigned.  Provide feedback as to what parts & labor are needed for repair. (Advanced)
  4. Document evaluation findings and generate a Technician Evaluation Report.
  5. Crimping, harness layout, and connector installation, as well as, troubleshooting and testing of wiring with understanding of wiring diagrams and schematics.
  6. Test equipment to a test procedure, performing component level and system level testing and troubleshooting as needed. (Advanced)
  7. Interpret readings of gauges, indicators, and dials.
  8. Braze and close refrigeration circuits.
  9. Charging refrigeration circuits.
  10. Assist Engineering in determining and documenting root cause analysis of equipment problems.
  11. Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment as instructed.
  12. Provide support and assistance to other technicians and team members, as directed.  This includes training personnel and locating proper tooling and/or fixtures, and any other duties as assigned by the Cell Leader or Sr. Personnel.
  13. Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.
  14. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  15. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  16. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
